When did you join SMG?

I joined SMG as part of the Lobster Client team beginning of January, a good way to start the New Year!

Describe your role in a nutshell..

As a Client Associate, I have many roles to cover! My main responsibility is to support, engage and provide best in class service to the client, whether it be in the evaluation process, booking shopper campaigns, or answering any clients' queries about shopper concerns (Consulting). On the 'Technology' side, I ensure evaluations are correctly uploaded to PlanVault (the shopper marketing data platform), and provide an analysis report back to the client. This part of my role is all about analysing data and understanding why a featured SKU has a positive ROI in a campaign. On the 'Training' side, I support the media planning and booking for Clients - in a nutshell, this entails not only recommending the best media touch-points for the Client, but also collaborating with the specialist media team. Finally, the 'Training' side of my role requires me to be a shopper expert, to train and provide solid solutions to Clients. 

Tell us what you enjoy most about working here?

Definitely the people and the culture of the company - free breakfasts, Beer O'Clock on Fridays 3 pm but also the many Lunch & Learn's. I particularly like that people at SMG are always up for helping you and answering all the questions that you  have as a new starter! Also, from the very first week I’ve been able to dive dynamically in the Shopper media world by going to a Client meeting and assisting a Lunch and Learn session.

What aspects of your role keep you challenged and curious?

Understanding how to best build relationships with clients is definitely a motivating challenge. I’m particularly curious to learn what works best in shopper media, and see in-store campaigns come to life in retailers site.

Which of the four SMG values resonates most with you and why?

Stay Hungry because there is so much to learn that you never know it all! But also, as a second choice I would pick Stay Honest which highly resonates with me as the right way to build relationships within a business and in a work place.

What is the most useful piece of advice you've received since joining SMG?

My manager Ama told me to always ask the What and the Why to every new information that comes to me, in other words 'Stay Foolish' and challenge things!
